Transforming Addiction Treatment with Immersive VR Therapy
MindTrack 360 blends evidence-based psychological approaches with immersive Virtual Reality to help people build the awareness, skills, and strength to move forward in recovery.
How MindTrack 360 Helps?
MindTrack 360 offers a completely new way to support people struggling with addiction. By combining modern psychology with immersive technology, we help people step out of their day-to-day environment and into a focused space for reflection, skill-building, and real-world practice.
The Science Behind Our Approach
MindTrack 360 draws on well-established, evidence-based psychological methods shown to support lasting recovery.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) are two of the most widely used approaches in addiction treatment. However, traditional web-based or paper-based CBT and MI programs often suffer from high dropout rates, as users may struggle to stay engaged and motivated throughout the process.
By integrating these principles into an immersive VR setting, users not only learn about change — they experience it firsthand, in ways that feel immediate and relevant.
The Power of Virtual Reality in Recovery
Virtual Reality places the user in a new environment—away from everyday distractions—where they can truly engage with the material. It helps individuals enter a ‘flow state,’ promoting deeper reflection and learning.
MindTrack 360 recreates realistic, emotionally resonant scenarios where users can:
- Explore and clarify their personal values to strengthen intrinsic motivation for change
- Identify and manage emotional triggers in realistic, everyday contexts
- Recognise and shift unhelpful thought patterns using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques
- Build resilience by recognising and leveraging personal strengths
- Practise setting achievable goals using SMART goal-setting and harm reduction strategies
- Develop practical relapse prevention plans that reflect their own lives and challenges
These immersive experiences help users build confidence, improve emotional regulation, and develop skills to effectively handle real-life situations and make lasting, positive changes.

Who We Work With?
MindTrack 360 is designed for use by addiction treatment services, mental health professionals and recovery-focused charities.
Our goal is not to replace human support, but to strengthen it.
MindTrack 360 is effective as a standalone resource for independent use, and it also supports frontline clinicians by allowing them to review their clients’ VR exercises to facilitate meaningful follow-up discussions.
We work with:
We are currently working with two Northern Ireland based charities on a research project involving over 80 service users.
We’re exploring a research partnership with a London-based university and a Plymouth-based charity to evaluate how immersive VR can support individuals facing challenges with gambling and gaming. These issues often affect similar demographics—tech-savvy, younger adults—making VR a natural and engaging platform for intervention, reflection, and skill-building.
We’re actively seeking partners for a project focused on young adults aged 18–24. This age group is highly familiar with immersive technology and often underserved by traditional addiction services. We believe MindTrack 360 offers a uniquely engaging and accessible way to support early intervention and positive change.
There is a high overlap between people on probation and those facing challenges with drugs and alcohol. MindTrack 360 offers a constructive and engaging way for clients to use this time to reflect, build skills, and improve outcomes—not just for themselves, but also for their families, communities, and, ultimately, the public purse. We’re exploring opportunities to pilot the program in justice and community settings.
